Offered here for your consideration is a Klagetoh style Navajo rug. This distinct style of rug features predominantly a gray background, featuring a large, central motif in red, white and black. The Klagetoh Trading Post was owned by Juan Lorenzo Hubbell, who also owned the Ganado trading post in Arizona, as well as a large warehouse in the Winslow, AZ region. Hubbell encouraged the Klagetoh weavers by buying the rugs that featured the evolving Klagetoh style. Custom Mervin Ringlero Made Saddle for Artist Hildred Goodwine

Offered for your consideration is a custom made Mervin Ringlero saddle for the well-known Arizona artist, Hildred Goodwine. Mervin Ringlero is said to be the most famous Native saddle maker to come out of Arizona. He started working for Porters prior to serving in WWII. After WWII he went to work in the Los Angeles area. Ringlero's reputation for unique, one of a kind, hand-tooled custom saddles spread quickly to the motion picture industry during his time at the San Fernando Valley Saddlery. Some clients include Walt Disney, Gary Cooper, Richard Boone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Randy Travis, John Denver, and Rex Allen, to name a few. His work can be found in permanent collections of the Autry Western Heritage Center, the Cowboy Hall of Fame and others. In 1992, his saddles were exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History. This wonderful and unique saddle was made towards the end of his career and shows little actual use. It was on display at the Desert Caballeros Museum in Wickenburg, AZ along with other Hildred Goodwine art and items. MAKER: Mervin Ringlero (Cahuilla and Pima/O'odham; 1917-2009). APPROX. AGE: 1989. Considered a lighter and more maneuverable weapon than the prior model (the Model 1840 was often called the wrist-breaker), the light cavalry saber only weighed about 3 ½ pounds with the scabbard.
