Offered here for your consideration is a rare Gustav Stickley antique Mission Oak daybed frame (3/4 size). This bed includes headboard, footboard, and side boards. The slatted head board and foot board is customary of the Stickley brand, as is the cutout slot for the side boards.This bed would make a nice addition to a child's bedroom decor or any room where you need some more seating. *Note - no in-house shipping. Options include local pick up at our warehouse in Wickenburg, or specialty shipper or courier of your choice can pick up.
MAKER: Unmarked, but attributed to Gustav Stickley. Gustav Stickley (1958-1942) was born in Wisconsin into a family of eleven children. In 1870, following the death of his father, Stickley gave up his formal education to take on the family farm. By 1876, his mother had moved the family to Pennsylvania where he worked in his uncle's furniture factory, getting his first formal training in the furniture industry. Stickley Brothers & Company was formed in 1883 and dissolved in 1888, and the Gustav Stickley Company was formed in 1898. After a trip to Europe, Stickley began creating his Arts & Crafts designs in 1905 at which time he moved his operations to New York City. His brothers, Albert and John George founded The Stickley Brothers Furniture Company of Grand Rapids in 1891, and it continued until the 1950s.
APPROX AGE: Antique (meaning made prior to the 1930s).
SIZE: This bed measures 54 1/4 inches wide x 83 inches long x 34 inches high.
CONDITION: Average for its age with normal wear and minor imperfections expected, and the original wood dowels used to pin the rails to the head and foot board are included.
