Created by a potter committed to preserving traditional Santo Domingo pottery construction methods and design elements, this large polychrome pot was provided with elegant design elements in black and brown on a beautiful glossy red body. Santo Domingo Pueblo (Kewa) is located south of Santa Fe in northern New Mexico. Its potters are known for simple bold designs that have changed little since the 1700s. MAKER: Signed D. Aguilar with a crescent moon and a star symbol. Darrin Aguilar (Santo Domingo Pueblo).
APPROX AGE: Fairly Modern (meaning 1980s or newer).
SIZE: This pot measures approximately 8 1/2 inches wide x 6 inches deep.
CONDITION: There is a hairline crack from the rim running for about two inches down the body, otherwise, good for its age with normal wear and minor imperfections expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
