Offered here for your consideration is a nice vintage pictorial Navajo basket . This polychrome basket portrays four figures of antlered deer and in their center a biped that may be a deer deity! The colors are bold and the design is intriguing. Bid now to add this basket to your collection or decor!
After migrating to the Desert Southwest centuries ago, the Navajo acquired basket weaving skills, a skill the Navajo mastered to the point that they now produce fine basketry with their own flavor. Originally baskets were woven for everyday use, but now most are decorative.
MAKER: Unknown Navajo weaver.
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between 1930s to 1970s).
SIZE: Approximately 19 3/8 inches across x 4 1/2 inches deep.
CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear and minor imperfections expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
HANDLING: There will be a $10 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot.
SHIPPING: The actual cost of postage will be added on top of the handling charges.
