Offered here for your consideration is an early 1900s transitional rug. Transitional rugs came about with changes to wool, dyes and the evolution from wearing blankets to floor rugs. "Pound" rugs were common at the beginning of the 20th century, and were densely woven because "Pound" rugs were sold by the pound, so heavier wool was used to fetch a better price because obviously  it weighed more. This practice did not last long as it was detrimental to all parties involved (weaver, trader and consumer). This particular rug has a bold color palette that is still bright, and a striking design of serrated edge triangles and diamonds. Although it has some wear, and is a denser weave, it will stand the test of time and be a nice addition to any decor. Make a bid now to get this rug in your collection!
