Offered here for your consideration is a vintage First Phase style sterling silver concho belt. The belt has nine oval conchos and one oval buckle each with nice hand stamped designs, scalloped edges and center opening for the leather to slide through. The matching buckle has a rectangular opening for the buckle to hook through. The First Phase of Navajo silver craft ran from approximately 1868 to 1900, and most items were made only for traditional use. First Phase is most commonly applied to the concho belt. Heavy round silver conchos with a center slot opening for the leather to slip through characterize the concho belt of The First Phase. The conchos are on brown leather with a scalloped edge brown overlay. This belt plays homage to that style and is a lovely concho belt that will look great worn with your favorite jeans or in your collection. Add it to your collection by bidding now!
MAKER: Likely Navajo, based on style and design, however this item is unmarked (as was common of Native jewelry from this era).
