Offered here for your consideration is a prehistoric Colima effigy pot. An effigy pot due to the fact that, in addition to the two handles protruding from the body of the pot, there are two bird head forms attached. The pot is undecorated, but for a slight incised line all round the body just below the rim. Further, the pot does not appear to have had a slip applied as the surface is rough to the touch. This is an interesting pot with a primitive, perhaps unfinished, feel. The Colima culture flourished in western Mexico from before the birth of Christ up to colonization. This is an interesting item for display in the home or a collection that you should have. Bid now!
