Offered here for your consideration is a Tusayan polychrome pottery bowl. Tusayan Polychrome was a style distinct to Anasazi living in Northern Arizona, circa A.D. 1120 to 1280. This thin walled bowl would have been built up from clay coils and fired. The interior is decorated with hatched triangular areas of black lines, alternating with triangular areas of squiggling black lines. The bowl's handle remains attached. This is a very nice item that belongs in your collection, so bid today!
Anasazi pottery is distinguished from that of other Southwestern culture areas by its predominant colors (gray, white and sometimes red). This pot features black on white designs on the outside in various geometric patterns. Make this one yours today and own a piece of history!
PROVENANCE: Former Dr. Paul Alepa collection. Dr. Alepa, who passed in 2004, was a professor of medicine at the University of Arizona, former Chief of Rheumatology at Georgetown University Medical Center and Chief of Rheumatology Services at the VA Hospital in Washington, DC. These items have been in storage since Dr. Alepa's passing and are accompanied by an Artifact Disclosure Statement.

APPROX AGE: Prehistoric.
SIZE: This item measures 6 3/4 inches wide and 4 inches tall.
CONDITION: As found with some restoration expected. This pot has not been subjected to a black light or any other tests, other than visual by us, so the extent of any possible restoration is unknown. Buyer is responsible for determining this to their satisfaction before bidding. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
