For your bidding pleasure is a Colt Model 1877 in .38 caliber.  This revolver is in very, very good condition for its age, still showing much original blueing. The M1877 was designed by William Mason who was one of the inventors of the M1873 Colt Single Action Army. The M1877 was the first successful US-made double-action cartridge revolver. The 1877 .38 Colt caliber was referred to the Lightning and the .41 caliber was referred to as the Thunderer.  Neither of these designations were used by Colt Firearms. It was manufactured in 1900.
