Howard Terpning is an American painter and illustrator best known for his paintings of Native Americans. “American Indian history fascinates me. I feel privileged to be one of their storytellers. I think it’s important to tell the story of the Plains Indians because their history is our history . . . part of our heritage. The history of the West is the only history America has that is uniquely our own.” MAKER: Howard Terpning. APPROX AGE: Fairly modern. SIZE: The artwork measures 36 inches wide x 22 inches tall. With the frame, it measures 42 inches wide x 28 inches tall. CONDITION: Good for its age, normal wear expected.
