Live Auction
May 15th Collector's Auction
Offered for sale in this lot is a model 1878 Colt Double Action Frontier Six Shooter. This pistol is in poor condition and seems to be working in double action but the hammer does not stay cocked back when used in single action. Cylinder does not always cycle properly. It has the wrong grips. Barrel address and serial numbers are very hard to read from being worn down. The serial number is 11??5, putting it in the early 1880s range. 278 is marked on both the loading gate and under the right grip. It appears to be a .44 cal.. A good project gun. MAKER: Colt APPROX AGE: 1880s. SIZE: Barrel length 5-1/2 inches. CONDITION: Poor for its age, wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition. SHIPPING: There will be a $15 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot. The actual cost of postage will be added on top of that.
